High-performance gaming laptop hardware releases

Overview

New high-performance gaming laptops featuring NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs have entered the market.

In September 2026, XMG announced refreshes to its 16-inch lineup, including the APEX 16 (M26) and PRO 16 VE. These models utilize the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 12 GB of VRAM and feature redesigned cooling systems with a dedicated third fan for RAM. The APEX 16 is configured with AMD Ryzen 9 processors and a 300 Hz IPS display.

By October 2026, the HyperX Omen Max 16 was introduced, targeting higher performance tiers with an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus CPU and an RTX 5090 GPU. While the device offers a high total graphics power of 175 W in Unleashed mode, reviews noted its increased thickness, weight, and the requirement of a 460 W power supply. Technical assessments of the Omen Max 16 highlighted a QHD+ OLED display with G-Sync support and expandability via two SODIMM and two M.2 2280 SSD slots. However, drawbacks include loud fans exceeding 55 dB(A) during intense gaming and relatively weak speakers. Additionally, retail listings for the brand also include 15-inch OMEN configurations equipped with RTX 5060 graphics and Ultra 7 255H processors.
