High-value e-bike theft in Austria
Overview
Police in Kittsee, Burgenland, arrested three men following the theft of a high-priced e-bike from Vienna. Authorities tracked the stolen property via GPS to a vehicle in the Kittsee shopping center area, where the e-bike, valued at approximately 15,000 euros, was found hidden under a blanket.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle used by the suspects was also reported stolen, and a power angle grinder suspected of being used in the crimes was recovered. The suspects include two Slovak nationals, aged 47 and 49, and a 24-year-old Ukrainian national. One suspect was transferred to the Vienna-Josefstadt detention center, while the others were released pending further investigation. The stolen e-bike has been returned to its owner.
