HNK Zagreb Nutcracker ticket demand

Overview

The Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Zagreb reported unprecedented demand for its upcoming production of ‘The Nutcracker’. During an online sale, more than 4,200 tickets were sold in 70 seconds, prompting crowds to gather outside the theater as early as 6:00 AM for in-person sales.

In response to the rapid sell-out, the HNK announced a free outdoor screening of the ballet. Scheduled for December 19 at Republic of Croatia Square, the event aims to make the production accessible to those unable to secure tickets. This broadcast, supported by the Zagreb Tourist Board, marks the fourth consecutive year the institution has organized a large-screen screening as part of the city’s Advent celebrations.
