Honda FIA Road Safety Index achievements

Overview

Honda has achieved a five-star rating in the products and services category of the FIA Road Safety Index, making it the first automotive manufacturer to reach this level under the updated methodology. The rating, announced at the Monza Circuit in Italy, follows a rigorous audit of operations across 17 countries, including Japan, Brazil, the United States, and China.

The FIA expanded its scale from three to five stars to increase requirements for safety culture, strategic planning, and data monitoring. This milestone builds upon Honda’s previous achievement in February 2025, when it was the first automotive company to receive a three-star rating under the original index.

In addition to these safety recognitions, Honda reported significant market growth in Brazil, where Honda Motos saw over 1 million motorcycle registrations between January and August 2026, a 9% increase from the previous year.
