Honda motorcycle and electric scooter product expansion
Overview
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has initiated a product expansion under its ‘Multi-Pathway’ strategy, introducing several new models including the QC3 electric scooter and updates to the CB350 lineup.
As part of this expansion, the company has opened orders in India for the new CB500. This retro-styled motorcycle, designed for urban environments and A2 license holders, features a 501cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 28 HP and 43.3 Nm of torque. The CB500 is available in three trim levels with prices ranging from ₹2,75,000 to ₹3,01,900, depending on configurations such as spoke or alloy wheels and tubeless or conventional tires.
Additionally, Honda is introducing the CB350C Special Edition for the 2026 model year in India. Priced at ₹2,04,700, this top-tier version of the 350cc family utilizes the existing 348cc single-cylinder engine producing 21 hp. The Special Edition features aesthetic upgrades including chrome parts, specific decals, and unique color options such as ‘Rebel Red Metallic’ and ‘Mat Dune Brown’.
Following these launches, HMSI announced a recall for the Honda Rebel 500 cruiser motorcycle in India, affecting 96 units manufactured between April 2025 and August 2025. The recall addresses a handle-lock fixing screw that may not have been sufficiently tightened during assembly, which could potentially impact steering movement. Honda stated that no issues have been reported thus far and will replace the screw free of charge through the Honda BigWing dealership network starting in the first week of November.
