Hong Kong entertainment industry career recoveries

Overview

Public figures in the Hong Kong entertainment industry have shared personal accounts of overcoming professional and personal crises to rebuild their careers.

Former TVB host Amigo Chui reflected on a 2009 domestic violence incident involving his then-girlfriend, Kwong Man-wai. Chui admitted to faults during an altercation that led to his termination by TVB and subsequent financial and social difficulties. Following legal proceedings in 2010, where charges were withdrawn after the victim agreed to drop them, Chui returned to TVB in 2011 in a production role before eventually resuming hosting duties.
