The two-meter-tall bronze statue was created by artist Josué Benjamín Figueroa Torres. The unveiling ceremony was attended by local authorities, including First Lady Ana Clara Barboza de Di Martino, and the player's son, Nelson Aparicio.

This installation is part of a municipal heritage and sports rescue project. The initiative includes the restoration of the Alejandro Borges Stadium and plans for a second statue to be placed in a museum dedicated to preserving Aparicio's legacy and memorabilia.
