Hormozgan Province school instructional shifts
Overview
In late September 2026, the Governor of Hormozgan Province, Mohammad Ashouri Taziani, announced that all schools in the province would transition to virtual, non-attendance learning for two weeks starting September 25. This decision, approved by the Minister of Education and the provincial security council, was intended to prioritize student health and safety due to special conditions in the region.
By mid-October, authorities transitioned from full remote learning to a regionalized hybrid model. In Bandar Abbas, schools implemented a schedule of three days of in-person instruction and two days of virtual learning per week. In the cities of Qeshm, Sirik, and Jask, schools adopted a hybrid model where the ratio of in-person to remote days is determined by individual principals, though rural areas in those counties maintained in-person instruction on an emergency basis. All other counties in Hormozgan returned to full in-person instruction.
