Hospitality expansions in Caribbean and Mexico

Major hospitality companies are expanding their all-inclusive resort footprints in the Caribbean and Mexico.

Ocean Signature Resorts has detailed specific rebranding and service upgrades for its 2026 winter season. On November 1, 2026, Ocean Eden Bay in Jamaica will be rebranded as Ocean Allure Eden Bay, joining the company’s elevated Ocean Allure adults-only luxury collection. This transition includes service enhancements such as champagne welcomes, valet parking, Rituals bath amenities, and an upgraded premium beverage program. For Privilege tier guests, the company is introducing expanded premium alcohol selections, upgraded bedding, and specialized minibar offerings.

Additionally, Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Mexico will be renamed Ocean Coral Riviera Cancún on November 19, 2026. Broader development plans for the company include introducing new room categories with private pools, redesigned restaurants, and renovated guestrooms in Punta Cana, Puerto Morelos, and the Riviera Maya.

Simultaneously, Marriott International has reached an agreement with The Reef Resorts & Spa to integrate three properties in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, into the Tribute Portfolio brand. The expansion, which includes The Reef Playacar, The Reef 28 Adults-Only, and The Reef Coco Beach, will add 676 rooms to the brand. Renovations for these properties are scheduled to begin in late 2026, with the transition expected to be completed in 2027.
