Human rights training initiatives in Puebla
Overview
In Puebla, Mexico, new initiatives have been launched to enhance human rights expertise through academic and legislative training.
Initially, IBERO Puebla and the Human Rights Commission of the State of Puebla (CDH Puebla) established a collaboration agreement. This partnership utilizes the university’s Law Graduate Programs, specifically a Master’s in Human Rights, to provide staff with the theoretical and practical tools required to protect civil liberties.
Following this, the Human Rights Commission of the Congress of Puebla approved a proposal to implement awareness workshops for members of the LXII Legislature. These sessions, to be conducted at least twice a year by the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) and the CDH, aim to improve legislative discourse and inclusion. Participation in these workshops remains voluntary for legislators.
