Humanitarian aid for displaced families in Yemen

Overview

Humanitarian organizations have launched emergency relief efforts to support families displaced by recent developments in Yemen, particularly those fleeing the West Coast regions including Mocha, Al Khokha, and Hays.

On September 17, the Field Medical Foundation (FMF), operating under a Rapid Response Mechanism led by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in partnership with UNICEF and the World Food Programme (WFP), distributed aid to 439 families in the Aden and Abyan governorates. This intervention targeted displacement sites such as Al-Firdous and Al-Nuba camps.

Following this, the Misk Foundation for Development initiated a larger-scale intervention on September 18 to support 3,571 displaced families in the Taiz and Aden governorates. This phase of the response includes the distribution of 1,000 ready-to-eat meals and 100 water tankers providing 500,000 liters of clean drinking water to combat acute shortages and sanitation risks.
