Hungary opposes EU accession acceleration and minority issue

Separately, tensions remain in North Macedonia regarding a one-billion-euro loan from Hungary. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski defended the funds as part of a ‘strategic partnership’ used transparently to address inherited national debts. However, the opposition SDSM continues to demand a Macedonian Prosecutor's Office investigation into potential criminal activity, following reports that the Hungarian national investigative bureau seized documentation related to Exim Bank.
