Hyundai vehicle exports from Vietnam

Hyundai has initiated the export of vehicles manufactured in Vietnam to international markets, including Australia, Mexico, and Taiwan. Initially, Hyundai announced plans to export the Tucson BLK Edition, a hybrid model assembled in Vietnam, to Australian dealerships between October and December 2026 to diversify the supply chain without affecting South Korean production.

As of August 2026, Hyundai Thanh Cong (HTC) has officially launched these exports, with the first shipment featuring the Hyundai Creta. This shipment marks the model’s debut in the Latin American market. For the full year of 2026, HTC plans to export a total of 15,280 units, comprising 10,160 fully assembled vehicles and 5,120 component sets.

In addition to these activities, HTC is implementing domestic promotional incentives in Vietnam throughout August 2026. These incentives, which can reach up to 220 million VND per vehicle, apply to models including the Grand i10, Accent, Stargazer, Creta, Tucson, and Santa Fe. Some models also feature extended warranty packages of up to 8 years or 120,000 km.

Beyond Mexico, Australia, and Taiwan, the company has previously engaged in export activities to South Korea, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Kazakhstan. Company leadership stated that meeting the stringent technical, safety, and emission standards of Mexico and Australia demonstrates the “growing technological and manufacturing capabilities of Vietnam’s automotive industry.”

Looking ahead, HTC aims to expand into the Middle East, Africa, Central America, South America, and Russia between 2027 and 2029, with the long-term goal of reaching an export volume of over 60,000 vehicles per year and becoming a global export hub by 2030.
