In September 2026, several prominent Ibero-American literary awards were announced.

Peruvian poet and essayist Mario Montalbetti was unanimously selected by an international jury for the 25th José Donoso Ibero-American Prize for Letters, presented by the University of Talca. The award recognizes his influence on Ibero-American culture and includes a US$50,000 prize.

Portuguese writer Álvaro Magalhães was named the winner of the 22nd Ibero-American SM Prize for Children's and Youth Literature.
