Idartes dance workshops in Bogotá
Overview
The District Institute of the Arts (Idartes) has organized a series of free dance workshops at the Casona de la Danza in Bogotá to support the independent arts sector.
In August 2026, the ‘Sembrar el agua’ workshop was announced, led by Carolina Salamanca. This session integrated contemporary, Cuban modern, and afro-contemporary dance techniques, focusing on body awareness and creative research inspired by Muisca myths and riverside community stories.
Following this, in September 2026, Idartes opened a call for ‘El Cuerpo Invisible’, a formative laboratory led by artist Chrystian Tamayo. This workshop shifted focus toward physical theater and performance, utilizing Butoh dance, body memory, and breathing to explore the relationship between stillness and scenic space.
