Incheon Port Authority operational initiatives
Overview
The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) has implemented various initiatives to enhance the port’s economic and cultural functions. In early September, the IPA and KOTRA Incheon Support Center hosted a seminar for 50 local enterprises to improve export capabilities for used cars and automotive parts. This session focused on practical procedures, such as foreign exchange and market entry strategies, to help companies recover export volumes following a previous crisis in the Hormuz Strait.
Later in the month, the IPA shifted focus toward passenger experience and environmental responsibility. The authority organized a two-day K-culture event at the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal for Korea-China ferry passengers, featuring traditional performances and food tastings to encourage repeat travel. Additionally, the IPA initiated a marine debris cleanup at Seonnyeo-bawi Beach as part of its first collaborative activity under the ‘Incheon ESG Sharing Cooperation Body’ to promote environmental conservation.
