Independiente club leadership and squad renewal
Overview
Following a period of instability and the departure of coach Gustavo Quinteros, Independiente has begun a process of squad and leadership renewal.
The club officially appointed Jadson Viera as its new head coach on a one-year contract. The agreement includes a unilateral rescission clause effective in December to accommodate the club’s upcoming electoral cycle. While Viera prepares to take charge, Carlos Matheu and Eduardo Tuzzio will serve as interim managers for the upcoming match against Lanús.
In tandem with the coaching change, the club is strengthening its roster. Forward Ezequiel ‘Chimy’ Ávila has signed a pre-contract to join the team, becoming the fifth recent reinforcement alongside Maximiliano Meza, Santiago Mele, Imanol Machuca, and Franco Calderón.
