India medical aid to Sri Lanka

Overview

India has provided significant medical assistance to Sri Lanka to support its public health system. This includes the delivery of approximately three tonnes of anti-tuberculosis medicines via an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft. The shipment contained over 1.5 million first-line anti-TB tablets valued at roughly 52 million Sri Lankan Rupees.

This aid follows previous Indian support for Sri Lankan healthcare infrastructure, such as a 600 million Sri Lankan rupee grant used to construct a new accident and emergency unit at the Mannar District General Hospital.
