Overview

In early August 2026, Indian authorities uncovered a cross‑border narcotics‑arms network operating from Pakistan. On 2 August, police in Rajasthan’s Khajuwala area seized a drone drop containing roughly 10 kg of heroin, pistols, ammunition and the drone itself, leading to the arrest of a local suspect. Five days later, Punjab forces in Amritsar confiscated 21.3 kg of heroin, 970 g of methamphetamine, a .30‑bore pistol and live cartridges, and detained five people, linking the haul to the same smuggling chain.
