On July 26, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav warned that if the Bihar government did not release students detained during protests over alleged paper‑leak incidents, the Mahagathbandhan coalition would launch a large‑scale movement across the state. He called for the withdrawal of all cases against the protesters and set a July 27 deadline for their release.

The following day, the Cockroach People's Party (CJP) echoed the demand on a national level, saying it would resume street protests unless FIRs against demonstrators were withdrawn and detainees released. The party referenced the arrests of hundreds of students not only in Bihar but also in West Bengal and Assam, and urged that no new cases be filed by Delhi police or authorities in BJP‑governed states. Both statements show a widening political backlash against the government's handling of student protests and a threat of broader action if the demands are not met.
