Indian Motorcycle Chief Vintage Sturgis release

Overview

Indian Motorcycle has unveiled the Chief Vintage Sturgis SD Edition, a limited-production cruiser designed to commemorate both the 86th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the brand’s 125th anniversary.

The motorcycle features a retro design inspired by the 1930s, utilizing a dual-tone ‘Indian Red’ and ‘Cream’ color scheme. Historical elements include a multicoloured headdress logo, skirted fenders, wire-spoke wheels, and a ‘Vintage Espresso’ single seat. To honor the rally’s origins, the side plates feature the number ‘56’, referencing the hand-painted numbers used by original racers.

Despite its vintage aesthetic, the bike includes modern performance upgrades such as an air-cooled ‘Thunderstroke 116’ V-twin engine, three riding modes (Tour, Standard, and Sport), and a 4-inch circular touchscreen featuring the RIDE COMMAND system.

Production is limited to 125 numbered units globally. While the launch occurred at the rally in South Dakota, a small allocation will be shipped outside North America, including to the Benelux region and France.
