Indian Railways services for Ramdevra Mela

Overview

North Western Railway and Indian Railways have implemented several measures to manage increased passenger traffic during upcoming festivals and the Ramdevra Mela.

In late August, North Western Railway announced the extension of existing services and the introduction of four pairs of festival special trains. These included the Barmer-Haridwar-Barmer bi-weekly special and the Ajmer-Yoganagari Rishikesh-Ajmer weekly special, alongside extensions for daily specials between Madar, Rewari, and Rohtak to accommodate pilgrims and travelers through late 2026.

By mid-September, capacity management efforts expanded to include increasing the number of coaches on the Lalgarh-Jaisalmer-Lalgarh and Jaisalmer-Jaipur-Jaisalmer routes. Additionally, three new pairs of special Mela trains were introduced to run between Bhagat Ki Kothi and Ramdevra, as well as between Sri Ganganagar and Pokaran, to reduce pressure on regular services during the peak pilgrimage period.
