Indonesia digital social protection data initiatives

Overview

Indonesian Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf has been highlighting the importance of digital social protection data registration across various regions.

In late October, Yusuf commended a social protection agent in Gowa Regency for efficiently registering hundreds of citizens into the digital system. He emphasized that local data operators are critical for the accuracy of the Next Generation Social Welfare Information System (SIKS-NG), noting that local errors can compromise national data updates.

By early November, the focus shifted to Banyumas Regency in Central Java, where Yusuf praised thousands of Social Protection Agents (Perlinsos). He reported that these agents helped over 209,000 households enter the digital system, a rate he stated was 32.21 percent higher than the national average. Yusuf reiterated that collaboration between central and local governments is essential for maintaining accurate data to support national welfare.
