Indonesia diplomatic support for Palestine

Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to Palestinian independence, framing its support as a constitutional mandate and a matter of human dignity rather than religion or ethnicity. At a ministerial meeting in Amman, Jordan, Indonesian officials proposed five steps to strengthen international responses, including enforcing International Court of Justice rulings, expanding international recognition of Palestine, and supporting Gaza reconstruction.

As diplomatic challenges evolve following the rejection of a Palestinian state by Israeli leadership, Indonesia is shifting toward deeper engagement in political negotiation processes. A proposed 2026 roadmap seeks to link the cessation of conflict with Israeli withdrawal and Palestinian governance, though disagreements remain regarding the disarmament of Hamas.

Additionally, Jakarta has been established as the Asia-Pacific headquarters for the Asia Pacific Coalition for Quds and Palestine (APCQP). This hub is intended to consolidate regional civil society efforts to improve humanitarian coordination and advocacy for residents in Gaza, the West Bank, and Quds.
