Overview
In early July 2026, Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) introduced a regulation aimed at overseeing financial influencers, establishing new rules for how they must operate and disclose information.
Later that month, Indonesian prosecutors carried out auctions of assets seized from former insurer executive Benny Tjokro and from the Ponorogo district prosecutor’s office. The auctions, conducted under the Asset Recovery Agency, generated roughly IDR 129 billion from the sale of apartments and land, plus a smaller amount from miscellaneous seized goods.
These developments illustrate the Indonesian authorities’ broader push to tighten oversight in the financial sector while also intensifying asset recovery efforts linked to corruption investigations.
