Overview

The Indonesian government issued Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2026 to establish a legal framework for Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP). These cooperatives are tasked with distributing subsidized goods and strategic commodities, such as rice, LPG, and fertilizer, directly to the village level.

Under this regulation, KDKMP managers will hold the status of State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) employees rather than civil servants. Their compensation will be determined based on the Regional Minimum Wage (UMK) of their specific assignment area, managed by PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara (Persero).

PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara later clarified that managers will operate under a fixed-term employment contract (PKWT) for a two-year duration. Following this period, employment continuity will be subject to evaluation based on BUMN needs. Regarding placement, the company stated that while proximity to a manager’s domicile is a priority, assignments will be determined by a matchmaking process considering family conditions, regional capacity, and infrastructure readiness.
