Overview

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan reported that as of July 31, 2026, 125,000 workers affected by layoffs have received Old Age Security (JHT) benefits. Within this group, 31,000 workers also received Job Loss Insurance (JKP) benefits, which include cash assistance, job training, and labor market information.

Regulations allow active participants to make partial withdrawals from their JHT balances without resigning. Those with at least 10 years of membership may withdraw 10% for retirement preparation or 30% for housing needs. Concurrently, national unemployment data showed a slight decrease, with the rate falling to 4.65% in May 2026 from 4.68% in February 2026.
