Indonesian agricultural and fishery exports
Overview
Indonesia has expanded its agricultural and fishery exports to China and Taiwan through various commodity shipments and government facilitation.
Initial developments included the export of 3.5 tons of salak from Bali to China and the first shipment of 10.5 tons of frozen marinated catfish from West Java to Taiwan. These efforts were supported by quality assurance standards to meet international requirements.
Subsequent large-scale exports facilitated by the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin) included mangosteen, crab, and edible bird’s nests valued at over Rp40.8 billion. Bird’s nests represented the largest portion of this value at Rp38.7 billion. To support these activities, Barantin introduced an ‘Export Clinic’ service to assist local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in meeting international health and safety standards.
