Indonesian climbing team international competition

Overview

Indonesian climbing athletes have begun participating in international competitions as part of strategic development and preparation for upcoming major events.

In mid-August 2026, a thirteen-member junior team traveled to Guiyang, China, for the World Climbing Asia Youth Championship. Head coach Galar Pandu Asmoro noted the event serves as a benchmark for athlete development and provides international experience for future regeneration within the sport.

By late August, the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) shifted focus to the senior level, dispatching two athletes to the World Climbing Series in Koper, Slovenia. This participation, featuring Putra Tri Ramadani and Alma Ariella Tsany in the lead discipline, is intended to test readiness for the 2026 Asian Games and improve global rankings.
