inDrive participation in African tech summits

The global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has been participating in regional technology summits to discuss digital ecosystem development and sector-specific challenges in Africa.

In Nigeria, during the GITEX Nigeria 2026 event, company leadership called for increased collaboration between policymakers, investors, and the private sector to support tech talent. Timothy Oladimeji, inDrive Nigeria Country Manager, highlighted the need for more opportunities to allow professionals to refine their skills and suggested that companies share internal learning resources to build a sustainable talent pipeline.

In Egypt, at the Techne Summit Cairo 2026, inDrive addressed the evolution of transportation and digital services. Alaa El Din Shalaby, the company’s Country Manager for Egypt, participated in high-level discussions regarding the company’s growth and the evolving dynamics of the local mobility sector. Shalaby emphasized the platform’s peer-to-peer pricing model, which allows direct fare negotiation between drivers and passengers, noting that the Egyptian market values flexibility and individual decision-making.

The discussions in Egypt also addressed sector challenges such as economic pressures, regulatory developments, and the necessity of creating sustainable employment and fair returns for drivers. Additionally, inDrive joined a panel with the platform Vezeeta to discuss the integration of technology platforms within healthcare ecosystems.
