Infrastructure and road works in Brazil
Overview
Various road infrastructure projects in Brazil have necessitated temporary traffic disruptions. In Teresina, the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) scheduled a temporary closure of a section of the Mercado do Peixe Viaduct on the BR-343/PI from September 28 to September 30. This intervention aims to adjust the connection between a new highway lane and the existing viaduct as part of the Teresina Road Bypass works.
In the Serra das Araras region, RioSP announced updated traffic schedules for the construction of new climbing and descending lanes, which have reached 86.5% completion. Temporary closures are scheduled for late September and early October. Additionally, a permanent change to the blasting and detonation schedule is set to begin on October 13, 2026, shifting closures to Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
