Infrastructure projects in Lower Saxony

Overview

Infrastructure maintenance and expansion projects in Lower Saxony, Germany, have introduced various traffic restrictions and road closures across the region.

In Braunschweig, construction began at the Ölper highway interchange to expand the connection between the A391 and A392 motorways. Managed by Autobahn GmbH, the project involves two phases: initial earthworks starting October 5 that narrow the A392, followed by a second phase in mid-November involving lane restrictions on the A391 toward Bad Harzburg, Salzgitter, and Kassel.

Further disruptions are scheduled to begin October 12. In the Braunschweig-Südwest motorway junction, renovations will close the connector from the A391 to the A39 toward Salzgitter and the B248 toward Rüningen until October 26. Additionally, certain exits from the A39 toward the B248 from Wolfsburg and toward Westerbergstraße from Salzgitter will be unavailable.

In the Göttingen district, several district roads (K 1, K 50, K 31, K 29, and K 30) are slated for resurfacing between October 12 and October 25. These closures are expected to last up to three days per section, though exact timing remains subject to weather conditions.
