To compete with TSMC’s 1.4nm platform, Intel aims for substantial 14A capacity expansion, with projections suggesting monthly production could reach 6,000 wafers by the end of 2027 and increase fourfold to 24,000 wafers per month by 2028.

Additionally, analysts have noted speculative reports regarding a potential collaboration between Intel and NVIDIA. Such a partnership might involve developing and manufacturing AI CPUs, potentially integrating Intel’s x86 architecture into NVIDIA’s computing ecosystem, such as the upcoming Rosa Feynman platform.

As the AI industry expands, Intel continues to work on scaling its foundry business to compete with TSMC. This growth occurs amid a broader surge in AI infrastructure spending, which Gartner forecasts will reach $2.7 trillion in 2026.
