International art exhibitions and cultural projects

Major art exhibitions and cultural projects continue to expand across Italy and internationally. In Turin, the MIIT Museum hosts the ‘Between Worlds’ 2026 Edition, while the MAcA – Environmental Museum has extended its ‘Impronte’ photography exhibition by James Balog, which documents environmental changes through imagery and film.

New developments include a retrospective of Italian sculptor Umberto Mastroianni, ‘Chromatic Abstraction 1934 – 1992’, at the Rothko Museum in Latvia. In Todi, the ‘Alicja Kwade. ParaPosition’ exhibition features monumental steel and stone installations in Piazza del Popolo and the Sala delle Pietre. Educational initiatives have also grown at the Musei di Palazzo dei Pio in Carpi, which launched nine immersive paths for students, including the ‘Le acque del Caos e l’ordine di Maat’ exhibition organized with the Museo Egizio di Torino.

Other regional highlights include the ‘Marmott’ site-specific installation by Laurent Le Deunff at the MuST in Spoleto, and ‘Le Signore dell’arte’ at Carrara’s Palazzo Cucchiari, which focuses on female artists in Italian modern art. The ‘Intrecci’ project in Salve remains active, utilizing urban regeneration to host contemporary installations.

Previously established projects include the Museum of Art Pudong’s ‘Giorgio Morandi. Solo’ in Shanghai, and the Fondazione Torino Musei’s 2026-2027 calendar featuring Marisa Merz, Song Dong, and Giuseppe Caccavale.
