International film and art festival activities

Overview

International film and art festivals are being held or announced across various regions, including Colombia, Mexico, and Spain.

In Colombia, the sixth Cinemancia International Film Festival in Medellín featured 109 screenings and a special program dedicated to filmmaker José Luis Torres Leiva. Meanwhile, the 23rd Corto Creativo UDCI International Short Film Festival concluded in Mexico, awarding prizes to productions from Baja California, national creators, and international directors.

New initiatives include the announcement of the first Jalisco Intercultural Film and Art Festival (FICAJALI) in Tepatitlán, Mexico, which aims to promote regional culture and tourism through multiple artistic disciplines. In Spain, the 24th Guadalajara Committed Film Festival (FESCIGU) opened in Azuqueca de Henares with a focus on the theme of addiction. The festival's location has prompted political discussions regarding a potential “double residence” model to balance its historical ties to the Guadalajara capital with its current venue.
