IPL 2027 mini-auction planning and deadline updates

Overview

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 mini-auction is officially scheduled for December 16, 2026, at the ITC Grand Resort in Goa. While the auction date coincides with an international ODI match between India and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru, the BCCI has indicated no changes to the schedule.

The BCCI has extended the deadline for franchises to submit player retention and release lists from November 15 to November 17, 2026. This extension is reportedly due to a scheduling clash with the final ODI between India and New Zealand on November 15.

Player registration for the auction opened on November 2 and is set to close on November 23. Following this, franchises have until December 1 to submit final auction lists, with the official register expected on December 3. Recent player trades have already occurred, including Rishabh Pant moving from Lucknow Super Giants to Delhi Capitals in exchange for Kuldeep Yadav, and N Natarajan joining Sunrisers Hyderabad for Zeeshan Ansari.
