Iranian state recognition of medical and forensic services

Iranian officials have issued several recognitions for medical and forensic professionals following recent conflicts.

Major General Ahmad Vahidi, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), honored medical professionals and pharmacists, specifically noting the contributions of healthcare workers within the IRGC during the COVID-19 pandemic and in treating wounded personnel during recent operations. Vahidi also commemorated 26 IRGC medical personnel described as having been “martyred during recent operations.”

During the 21st Shahid Rajaee Festival, President Masoud Pezeshkian honored the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for its resilience during recent conflicts. Minister of Health Mohammad Reza Zarfandi reported that the health system treated more than 66,000 injured individuals during recent incidents and noted that external aggression caused damage to medical infrastructure, including over 300 ambulances. Additionally, officials in Mazandaran honored families of the Forensic Medicine Organization, with judicial officials describing the work of forensic experts as a vital struggle to uncover truths in complex cases.
