Italian academic prizes for cooperative culture

Overview

The fourth edition of the Luciano Calanchi and Adriano Turrini Prize for cooperative culture has been launched to support university research into the cooperative economy, its principles, and its values. Promoted by Legacoop Bologna, Fondazione Ivano Barberini, and Fondazione Unipolis, the initiative targets recent graduates and doctoral students from Italian universities.

The prize encourages academic investigation into the role of cooperation during contemporary shifts, such as the ecological transition, artificial intelligence, labor changes, economic democracy, and social innovation. A total of 23,000 euros is available across three categories: the best Master’s thesis, the best doctoral thesis, and comparative studies on cooperation that include an international stay. Applications for the award are due by November 8, 2026.
