Italian cultural exchange missions in Canada

Overview

Italian cultural initiatives are facilitating exchanges with Canada through music and gastronomy.

In late September 2026, the “Abruzzo, terra di racconti” project conducted a mission in Toronto and Ottawa. A delegation of musicians and storytellers engaged with local Abruzzese communities by presenting oral traditions and folk music using traditional instruments like the zampogna.

Following this, the “Migrazioni sonore 2026” project expanded cultural engagement into Quebec. This initiative features the musical group I Matti delle Giuncaie performing concerts and media appearances. The project is scheduled to conclude on November 11 in Montreal with the “Fuori Cucina” event at the Casa d’Italia. This event aims to showcase contemporary identities from Tuscany and Marche through a combination of musical performances and regional Italian culinary products.
