Italian educational and vocational orientation initiatives

Overview

Italy is implementing various educational and professional orientation programs to assist students in transitioning between school, university, and the workforce.

Major initiatives include the ‘Mondadori Academy Forum Orienta’, a collaboration between Mondadori Media, Focus, Focus Scuola, and UniversityBox. This project involves 25 physical and digital stages across 11 cities between 2026 and 2028, specifically targeting the rising number of NEETs (young people not in education, employment, or training).

Regional and local efforts are also expanding. In Bareggio, a ‘50 jobs of tomorrow’ booklet has been introduced to highlight emerging professions in green technology, health, and creativity. In Codigoro, a new orientation desk funded by the Emilia-Romagna region facilitates dialogue between families and educational institutions, while the ‘LINK 2026’ program in Crema provides tools for middle school students to choose their future paths.

Additionally, local schools like the Baldessano Roccati complex in Carmagnola are hosting Open Days to assist families with enrollment and technical track orientation for the 2027-2028 academic year.
