Italian port series on Rai 1
Overview
In early August 2026, the Italian public broadcaster Rai 1 continued its documentary series “Linea Blu – Porti d’Italia,” which showcases the country’s maritime heritage. The first episode, aired on 1 August, focused on the lagoon city of Chioggia in Veneto, highlighting its historic canals, commercial port, fishing activities and local marine biodiversity, with on‑water footage from local vessels.
A week later, on 8 August, the series turned to the port city of Brindisi in Apulia. That episode examined commercial cargo handling, the conversion of its fuel terminal to renewable energy, passenger links across the Adriatic, sustainable fishing projects, local shipyards and the Remuri rowing association’s traditional wooden boats.
Both broadcasts were produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the national port system, underscoring a coordinated effort to promote Italy’s coastal culture and modern port developments.
