Overview

In late July 2026 Italian municipalities launched new award programmes, from Foligno’s sport prizes to CONI Calabria’s November Gran Galà dello Sport. Early August continued the wave of regional recognitions.

The Spello Arts Exhibition and Umbria in Posa competition wrapped up with a ceremony in Spello, where 34 artists were honoured and a youth prize awarded to Alice Zurlo and Leonardo Sassi. The winning works will form the core of a planned Museum of Umbrian Villages.

At Palazzo Mauri in Spoleto, the inaugural "Le Onde del Destino – Premio alle Eccellenze Umbre" celebrated 26 Umbrian personalities from culture, entrepreneurship, research and social commitment, including journalist Donatella Binaglia and truffle producer Olga Urbani.

Meanwhile, the second edition of the Premio Francavilla in Francavilla honoured community volunteers and cultural figures, while the eighth Premio Letterario FulgineaMente in Spello combined a guided tour of the “Stati d’arte” exhibition (over 110 artists) with literary awards for works in narrative and poetry.

These events illustrate a sustained, multi‑regional effort throughout 2026 to recognise achievement in sport, visual arts, literature and broader cultural contributions across Italy.
