Italian youth digital sustainability awareness
Overview
The third edition of the Youth & Sustainability Observatory, promoted by Angelini Industries in collaboration with Quorum/YouTrend and Csa Research, indicates a high level of environmental awareness among young Italians. Data shows that 46% of Italians under 30 believe the environmental impact of digital technology is as severe as that of fossil fuels or deforestation, a figure higher than the 41% reported by the general population.
Younger respondents identified reducing the energy consumption of new devices as a primary necessary action, with 22% expressing a preference for circular economy solutions like refurbished hardware. The report also notes an increasing awareness regarding the social impacts of corporate activities, particularly concerning artificial intelligence and the ‘digital biome’.
In response to these trends, Angelini Industries is expanding its Angelini Academy programs to better connect university-trained professionals with corporate and social contexts.
