Italy PAC 2026 contemporary art funding

In late July 2026 the Italian Ministry of Culture announced the first round of its Piano per l’Arte Contemporanea (PAC) 2026 grants, selecting 29 projects across 15 regions and allocating about €3 million to acquire, produce and promote contemporary artworks. Among the winners was the Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino (GAM), which will publish a bilingual monograph on artist Alessandro Pessoli.

A few days later, the ministry detailed further allocations, naming 26 specific projects that received national funding. The city of Senigallia secured support for Giulia Marchi’s “QUASI NULLA” installation, which will be displayed at the Rotonda a Mare and accompanied by school‑based educational activities before touring Rome and Bologna. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Ravenna also received funding for Daniele Torcellini’s curated mosaic project, commissioning a new work by Shahzia Sikander for the museum’s Contemporary Mosaic Collection. These announcements illustrate the rollout of PAC 2026, moving from a broad funding round to the implementation of individual contemporary art initiatives across Italy.
