IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur SL 50th anniversary release

Overview

IWC Schaffhausen has announced the release of two limited-edition timepieces to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Ingenieur SL, a model originally designed by Gérald Genta in 1976. The collection includes the Ingenieur Automatic 40 and the Ingenieur Automatic 35, with each model limited to 1,150 pieces.

Both editions feature stainless steel cases and bracelets, along with satin-finished silver-plated dials inspired by rare 1970s variants. To mark the milestone, the traditional lightning bolt motif under the ‘Ingenieur’ logo has been replaced with the number ‘50’.

The 40mm model utilizes the in-house Calibre 32111 movement, which provides a 120-hour power reserve and includes a soft iron inner case for magnetic protection. The 35mm model is equipped with the Calibre 47110 movement and features a sapphire crystal case back with perlage and Côtes de Genève finishing.
