A few weeks later, the neighboring Bornova municipality carried out a large‑scale clean‑up in the rural‑tourism villages of Çiçekliköy and Yakaköy, removing illegal billboards, signage and advertising posters from roadsides, trees and utility poles. Municipal police also inspected newly opened restaurants, breakfast halls and wedding venues for compliance with licensing and land‑use permits, reflecting an active enforcement phase following the policy announcements. Together, the actions illustrate a coordinated effort by Izmir’s districts to curb visual pollution and enforce stricter signage standards.
