Jakarta inclusive sports events

Overview

In early July 2026 Jakarta announced a Fun Athletics Championship for children with special needs. The event was positioned as a platform to encourage participation of disabled youth in sports.

Later that month, corporate and non‑profit partners staged two concrete inclusion activities. Accor’s ATFAC program organized a Family Fun Walk on 25 July at the Grand Mercure Jakarta Kemayoran, drawing hundreds of children, parents, volunteers and staff and highlighting scholarships, nutrition and life‑skill training for 75 children in Jakarta and Bali. On 26 July, Plan Indonesia held the Run for Equality at Senayan Park, attracting 1,670 participants and emphasizing the need for safer, accessible recreational spaces, noting that only 17.2 % of working‑age disabled people accessed formal education in 2025. Both events reinforced calls for inclusive public spaces and equal opportunities for children with disabilities in Jakarta.
