In late July 2026, Jamaica’s Integrity Commission faced a series of court setbacks involving senior officials. On 31 July, the Supreme Court granted Cabinet Minister Dr. Andrew Wheatley an injunction that temporarily bars the commission from pursuing illicit‑enrichment charges until a judicial review is heard, noting Wheatley’s claim that significant rental income had been omitted from the commission’s assessment.

Later the same day, the Court of Appeal issued rulings that further limited the commission’s actions. It dismissed an appeal by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness seeking to strike portions of an affidavit filed by the commission, while also rejecting a separate election‑challenge petition by Paul Buchanan, citing the expiry of the statutory time limit. Both decisions left the commission’s broader investigations unchanged but marked notable judicial defeats for the officials involved.
