The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly autumn session commenced in Srinagar on September 21, marked by heightened security and intense political maneuvering. In response, members of the ruling alliance—comprising the National Conference, Congress, and CPI(M)—countered by demanding the immediate restoration of the region’s statehood. Ahead of the proceedings, the National Conference coordinated with Congress and supporting Independents to focus on legislative coordination, while the BJP and PDP prepared to address administrative lapses, corruption, and the delay in local body elections.
