Japanese funeral service provider facility expansion
Overview
Funeral service providers in Japan are expanding their regional networks and facility offerings to meet local demand.
In the Kanagawa and Tokyo areas, Kizuna Holdings’ subsidiary Family Funeral announced the opening of the Yokohama Nagata Hall in Minami-ku, a wooden-structure facility designed for small-scale, private ceremonies. Additionally, Kousaido Group’s Kousaido LifeWell opened the Tokyo Hakuzen Mitaka Hall in Mitaka, which operates on a “one family per day” basis to provide a home-like setting for ceremonies.
Further expansion is occurring in other regions, with Nihon Ceremony Co., Ltd. launching the Tomiya Tenrei Kaikan in Miyagi Prefecture. Meanwhile, Asuka Kaikan Co., Ltd. has opened six new family funeral halls across Kitakyushu and Fukuyama, increasing its total network to 22 halls spanning the Yamaguchi, Fukuoka, and Hiroshima regions.
